This year the spring has been exceptionally cold in many parts of Europe. Due to a weak Polar Vortex (the low-pressure zone near the North Pole) even cities like Rome have been hit by sudden snow fall. For us here in Lapland the weather has not been that extreme, since we are used to having frosty forests until half way May. Actually, we have been able to enjoy lovely sunny days that only March can offer, with bright white scenery, blue sky and a super bright sun.

The picture above was taken on top of Levi fell. Do you notice how the sunny side of the trees is already free from snow?
