February is often a month of heavy snow fall, and this year is no exception. At the moment the ground is covered with a snow blanket of 109 cm – you can imagine that the bulldozers and lorries are hard at work trying to keep the roads and yards safe for everybody.

Such a snow load can get rather demanding for the trees as well. In the right conditions the water content of the snow grows too high, breaking the branches and damaging trees. Luckily the Lappish pine are slow growing and resilient, and used to extreme weather conditions. Keep up the good work, dear HaliPuus!
