Plant a baby pine tree and support our mission!
Planting trees is one of the most effective ways to tackle climate crisis, and everyone can get involved. According to research there is room for an extra 0.9 billion hectares of canopy cover, which could store 205 gigatonnes of carbon in areas that would naturally support woodlands and forests.
At HaliPuu we are doing our small share. Our baby pine trees grow in local nurseries and we plant them together with Pappa. Arctic forests are mostly covered with snow and the planting season is very short, so we give the seedling their new homes during the short Arctic summers. The seedlings have to be quite tough to make it through the harsh winters, but they grow up tall and strong and can store up to 800 kg of carbon dioxide during their lifetime. Pine trees provide a home for hundreds of other Arctic species, from lichens to bugs to birds, some of which are endangered. By buying a baby pine tree you support our mission of returning the forest into its natural state with a healthy, diverse ecosystem. Or if you want to adopt a fully grown pine instead, you can do so here.
