This is what Steffan says about his coffee: “Ever since I started this whole thing I’ve been looking for the perfect coffee to use on my sled and the fire in the forest. I wanted it to be brilliant not only taste-wise, it had to also fit with what I do and how I think and see the world.
Around Christmas 2019 I got a phone call from an old friend, who partially grew up in our village. She had traveled the globe and settled down in Helsinki with a Finnish guy she met in India. She told me they had started importing coffee beans straight from Indian coffee farms and they would like to drop by my coffee sled to give me some samples.
That’s when I first met Petteri (the roaster of Metsäpaahtimo). We had an immediate click. Not just on how we see coffee, but also in how we see the world and the shenanigans going on in it. Petteri’s dedication to high quality coffee with an ethically sound background totally connects to my wish to not only serve a brilliant cup of coffee, but in doing so also make the world a nicer place.”

Campfire Barista ‘s beans are farmed by Unna in Tamil Nadu, India. She sells her bio-dynamic beans to Petteri, who roasts them on solar power in small batches to different degrees of darkness. Petteri blends the batches to create a perfect balance that brings out all the different tastes that are hiding inside Unna’s beans and then sends them to Steffan. This short chain guarantees that Unna and her workers get enough money for their beans, and that the bio-dynamic certificate is not just a piece of paper.
